Safe Harbor in Minnesota

January is National Human Trafficking Prevention Month

In supporting homeless youth, Minnesota Pride Rotary will focus on the link between homelessness and trafficking during the month.

Shannon will speak about Passageways, a program of The Link, and Safe Harbor in Minnesota.

Shannon Fakhoury hails from New London-Spicer, Minnesota, and then attended St. Catherine University, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in History. After graduation, she returned home to work at Lutheran Social Services in Minnesota, Willmar. Sha worked with youth who were in out-of-home placement and at risk for trafficking and exploitation and ran their Youth Leadership Council, where she developed a mentoring program alongside youth. She moved back to the metro area and began managing a brand-new drop-in shelter for youth experiencing homelessness in the St.Cloud/Stearns County area. For the last three years, she has been the Regional Navigator with The Link out of North Minneapolis, working to educate communities about trafficking and exploitation and Minnesota's Safe Harbor program.
